Permanent SSH / Running SSH in Background

After searching and searching on google .. i haven’t see something that can fulfil my needs to create persistent SSH.

So .. i try to open ssh man page (ya ya ya .. i know .. I should open it 1st before searching anywhere) and got the option,

so what you need to do only :

- running it in background

- send all the log to /dev/null –> in my case, i never interested to see SSH log hihihihi

- create a tunnel

and from above requirement here it is the command :

ssh -T -f -N -L source_port:target_ip_tunnel:target_port username@host -p ssh_port

Note : (-p ssh_port) is optional if your default ssh port not 22.

That’s all folks !!

Mauritius .. (Journey Report)

 

Yeps .. ini pertama kalinya gw kesini, ke mauritius, dikirim ma company buat beres2in kerjaan orang yang blum kelar n beresin masalah di salah satu operator “si merah” disini.

Tapi gw gak akan cerita soal itu, let it be my own stories hihihi, gw bakal sharing gimana caranya kesini dan apa aja yang bisa dinikmatin disini.

Okeh, mari kita mulai,

1. perjalanan seperti biasa dimulai dari bandara tercinta CGK (Soekarno Hatta), gw kebetulan dapet flight pagi, ini itinerary-nya (maap singkatannya terserah gw, males nyari 3 letter code bandara wihihihi):

- 06:30 CGK – 09:00 SIN

- 14:00 SIN – 15:00 MAS

- 15:30 MAS – 20:45 MAU

            Sampe di mauritius, kita kudu adjust jam tangan / Hape or whatever yang nunjukin waktu (tapi klo jam pasir gw gak tau caranya .. wiihihih) mundur 2 jam dari Waktu Indonesia Bertindak (WIB) wihihihi.

1. di mauritius, jangan mengharapkan ada MRT kaya Metro (di Paris) atau City Train (di SIN / Malaysia) atau DAMRI (di Soekarno Hatta weheheh, at least kita punya DAMRI dengan 12 rebu .. beres dah), disini gw cuman pasrah naek taxi yang ongkosnya kisaran 1500 – 2000 Mauritius Rupees (RS) itu sekitaran .. haduh itung ndiri deh .. mahal pokoknya. 

1. Trus gw ama company disewain Service Apartment lengkap dengan amenities-nya (katanya) di Bassin Road – Quatre Bornes, yang ternyata untuk standar sini itu udah bagus banget, tapi klo untuk standar kita kaya kosan dah .. hihihi .. mungkin klo niat gw bekpek-an .. ini bener2 mewah tapi berhubung ini kerja .. yah .. agak2 gak mendukung ixixixi (bersyukur dulll !!! toyor pala ndiri ixixix), harga sewa per harinya klo gak salah 3000 RS (wuhuhuhuh), klo di jakarta kali udah dapet kosan mewah abisssssss. 

1. Okeh sekarang cerita soal yang menyakitkan dulu, contoh biaya2 yang kudu masuk itungan klo kesini hihihi :

Taxi (open dr pagi jam 6 atau 7 pagi sampe jam 7 malem atau kadang jam 9 malem klo pas liburan) :

- Taxi untuk muter2 lokal di 1 daerah, untuk kasus gw cuman sekitaran Quatre Bornes itu sekitaran 100 Rupees (MRU).

- Taxi untuk ke tempat yang kluar dr local tempat kita tinggal dan jarak di bawah 10 km / perjalanan 5 – 10 menit itu sekitaran 190 rupees (MRU), untuk kasus gw dr kosan gw disini ke cybercity (kantor operator tempat gw ngerjain kerjaan), cybercity ini klo gw analogi-kan kaya mega kuningan di jakarta tapi 10 – 15 taon yang lalu dimana baru ada jalan dan 2 / 4 gedung yang udah jadi dan yang laennya masih dibangun tapi kelebihannya pembangunan cybercity ini berwawasan lingkungan, tetep mempertahankan pemandangan alamnya.

- Taxi untuk kluar dari daerah kita ke kota laen yang jaraknya sekitaran 20 – 30 km atau 10 – 15 menit perjalanan itu sekitaran 400 – 500 rupees (MRU).

- Taxi untuk ke Bandara sekitaran 1500 – 200o rupees (MRU).

- Taxi untuk ke tempat wisata 1 day trip PP dr tempat kita ke bagian Utara / Selatan (pilih salah satu) dan balik lagi susur Pantai, itu sekitaran 2000 Rupees (MRU).

nah skr yang agak murah, naek Bis :       

- jurusannya macem2, sampe skr gw juga ndak bisa nginget2, mungkin nanti di tulisan berikutnya klo gw udah bisa inget2 bakal gw lengkapin, itu rata2 20 – 30 rupees untuk 1 jurusan.

- klo mau ke Grand Bay dari Quatre Bornes, naek dr Bus Stop ambil yang judul Bis-nya ada Port-Louise-nya, trus di Port Louise lu turun di Terminal Selatan (South) n nyambung pake Bisa yang NTC buat ke Terminal UTARA (North), terminal utara ini deket ama Pelabuhan (disini gw ketemu ma nelayan2 handal Indonesia, seru dah ngobrol2 ampe pagi dan dapet barteran Indomie Goreng gw barterin ama Dji Sam Soe, seneng banget mereka .. wekekekekke), nah dr Terminal Utara (North) ini baru deh naek Bis yang ke Grand Bay, Total duit buat kesini : Quatre Bornes – Port Lousie (SOUTH) : 30 – 40 Rupees, Port Loise (SOUTH) – Port Loise (NORTH) : 15 Rupees, Port Loise (NORTH) – GRAND BAY : 65 Rupees, totalnya .. MAHALLLL !!!!! (mahal banget dibanding pas gw iseng2 dr Port du Vanves – Chatteau de Versailes gak sampe 40 euro PP !!!!!!

             Btw, klo mo jalan juga bisa kok dr Terminal Selatan ke Utara (asal matahari masih terang dan rame yak .. klo udah gelap … mending taxi .. suer deh .. for your own safety), sekalian nikmatin daerah pelabuhan dan Waterfront (salah satu pusat gaul dan perbelanjaan disini).

             Makanan di Mauritius :

            - hampir di dominasi ama (mulai dr yang paling dominan) : makanan India (Briyani, dll), Arab (kebab, shawama dll), Chinesse (yah lu tau dah), Eropah (pizza dll), Amerika (KFC, McD), tapi buat gw ndak masalah .. selama ada nasi .. gw gak komplen .. even selama ini yang gw makan seringnya kebab .. wekkekekekeke.

            - sambel ? ada tapi tetep aja .. ndak sampe level terendah dr level pedesnya Indonesia, wihihihihi .. so bawa saos lombok ndiri wekekek. 

1. Hal2 yang manteb di Mauritius (nah ini yang menyenangkan ..) :  Masjidnya bagus2, bersih, nuansa islaminya kental banget, sesama sodara se-syahadat bener2 kerasa klo sodara (kita disapa, diajak ngobrol, dikasih petunjuk soal mauritius .. jangan harap yang beginian ditemuin di indonesia palagai jakarta beghhhh !!!), dan yang penting lagi .. masjidnya selalu penuh pas sholat lima waktu at least 5 shaf full .. manteb dah, tempat wudhu-nya enak bangettttt .. imamnya klo udah kelar sholat langsung buru2 ke pintu kluar buat bersiap nyalamin dan nyapa dan ngobrol2 bentar ama jamaahnya .. top khan ? dan pas giliran gw .. imamnya seneng banget .. dia crita klo pernah ke indonesia di undang buat MTQ dll dll .. seneng dah, subhanalloh !!! (poto2 soal journey gw di masjid2 mauritius akan gw upload tersendiri tetep di multiply or superpinjal.com).

- Clean Air, Fresh Air, Adem Air (loh ?).. hihihi beneran deh .. udaranya masih seger banget, masih top, buat para tukang poto .. dijamin seneng banget palagi ma Awan dan langitnya biruuuu dan cerahh banget .. even tu poto OE-pun .. masih bagussss bangettt .. dan even backlight-pun .. masih mantebbbbb .. gak cuman putih doank .. wehehehheh.

- Mauritius termasuk Vulcanic Island, jadi banyak bukit2 dan gunung2 yang gak terlalu tinggi di selimutin awan2 tipis dan langit biru yang biruuu banget trus sebelahnya udah laut .. nah asyik khan ?

- pantai mauritius .. katanya seh bagus, gw blum kesono, rencananya wiken ini mo bekpek-an naek bis, tar di critain di cerita selanjutnya. 

1. nyambung lagi di crita selanjutnya yakkkkkk untuk bekpek-an-nya gw di sini.

HTC Touch Pro Tweaking GPS

Hehehehehhe .. berhubung defaultnya Internal GPS bawaan HTC Touch Pro agak2 lambat banget untuk fix positioning-nya (acquiring GPS current position), maka diulik2 .. dan dapet deh settingan nya.

Tapi sebelum nge-tweak, perlu disiapin buat download :

Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 (ini akan diperlukan buat jalanin Advanced Configuration Tool) –> di download, trus install di PC, trus masuk ke directory-nya NET Framework di Program Files, cari file CAB-nya yang sesuai untuk gadget lu (kasus gw pake yang WM version – windows mobile), trus uploadin tu CAB file ke gadget lu, install, beres atau klo mo lebih cepet ya pake ActiveSync hehehehhee.

Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 –> install dengan cara yang sama pake CAB file seperti diatas.

Total Commander 7.04 –> install dengan cara yang sama pake CAB file diatas.

Klo itu semua udah berhasil di jalanin di HTC Touch Pro, maka berikutnya ada merubah konfigurasi.

Berikut adalah konfigurasi yang kudu diubah :

1. Buka Advanced Configuration Tool (di Program Files), klik di GPS dan rubah parameter berikut :

    - Assisted GPS : set to DISABLE

    - Log File : set to No Logging

    - Old Log File : hapus value yang udah ada, jadiin blank aje.

    - Max Log File Size : set to 0

    Setelah itu Tutup Advance Config Tools dan klo minta soft reset, pilih NO dulu, tar aja resetnya, sekalian (windows .. oh windows …).

2. Buka Total Commander trus pilih \\Pluggin dan rubah registry-nya (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\)

   - Drivers\GpsOneDevice\PollInterval -> 100 (default is 1000)

   - Drivers\InputBufferSize -> 512 (default is 4096)

   - Drivers\OutputBufferSize -> 512 (default is 4096)

   - Drivers\SleepOnNoData -> 100 (default is 1000)

   - Multiplexer\MaxBufferSize -> 512 (default-nya key ini ndak ada, bikin aja baru, yang penting pake option DWORD).

Trus SOFT RESET aja, dan cobain jalanin google Maps + Use GPS .. VOILA !!!! cepet dapetnya deh buat Fix Position-nya, mo nyoba lebih enak lagi ? download aja MAPKING 2007 + Jakarta Map .. lebih yahuyyy dah ..

Met mencoba .. (untuk yang punya .. hihihih)

btw .. indosat broadband yang unlimited 100 rebu asyik juga .. nyus nyus …

[tips'n'tricks]Create Login Page for DRUPAL CMS

Actually the goal of this activity is just to move the default login page on front page of your DRUPAL based website.

So here it is how to do that :

1. Enable CLEAN URL on your DRUPAL site (please see my previous writing or click here)

2. Enable PATH MODULE on your DRUPAL (Administer –> Site building –> Modules)

3. Create new PAGE (Create content –> Page) then :

a. type “ADMIN ONLY !!! (or whatever actually hihihi)” as the Title

b. expand URL path settings and type “ADMIN” on it

c. SAVE IT !!!

4. Moved the original LOGIN Block to new PAGE (in this case with URL path settings = ADMIN as mention above)

a. go to Administer –> Site building –> Blocks and the find “User Login” on it and click CONFIGURE

b. after you click CONFIGURE, in the new pages, find Page Spesific Visibility setting and set to Show On Only The Listed Pages option and then type “ADMIN” on it.

c. SAVE IT !!!

d. and then in the new pages, you can set where to put your new login page by set the REGION of User Login to anyplace you want as define on its drop down menu and then just SAVE IT !!!

5. TESTING

for testing the new login page, please open other browser which is different with browser that you used for creating new Login Page (to avoid can’t login anymore .. kekekke).

Just Type : http://main_url.com/kampret/ADMIN/

Voilaaaa .. you should see your new pages of login pages.

[tips'n'tricks] Enable CLEAR URL for drupal CMS using .htaccess

Another share to what I’ve done during my sidejob project i.e. to enable .htaccess for Drupal CMS.

My server configurations for drupal CMS are mention below:

1.    It’s part of the main URL (you can say it “subdirectory” with alias on httpd.conf) and my httpd.conf settings :

…

Alias /kampret/ “/var/www/html/drupal-6.6/”

 

<Directory “/var/www/html/drupal-6.6″>

    Options Indexes MultiViews

    AllowOverride All

    Order allow,deny

    Allow from all

</Directory>

…

so to access my drupal it will be “http://main-url.com/kampret/”

2.    I’ve enabled the mod_rewrite capability on httpd.conf by defining configuration as below :

LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so

…

AccessFileName .htaccess

…

<Files ~ “^\.ht”>

    Order allow,deny

    Deny from all

</Files>

 

And next, to enable CLEAR URL capability for drupal just make sure the file .htaccess under my drupal root document is exist, for my case it should be under /var/www/html/drupal-6.6/.htaccess

 

If .htaccess already there, so you just need to

1.       un-comment and change line containing :

…

# RewriteBase /drupal

…

to become like below (please make sure that it use the same pattern as your alias for subdirectory on httpd.conf, in my case I use “/kampret/” as alias):

…

RewriteBase /kampret/

…

2.       restart httpd service by issuing this command (for redhat / fedora based distribution) :

[apache@kampret] $service httpd restart

Stopping httpd:                                            [  OK  ]

Starting httpd:                                            [  OK  ]

3.  Go to your DRUPAL ADMIN PAGE and then open Administer –> Site Configuration –> Clean URLs, choose ENABLED and the SAVE IT !!!

Done!!!  Hopefully, this can be useful for everyone who may need this kind of howto, thanks

[tips'n'tricks]SSH Automatic Login using Public Key

Hehehehe .. another sharing again ..

Perhaps almost all engineer know how to do it but .. i think it’s okay for writing it in here since it’s very usefull for others (hopefully).

So lets the tutorial begin then ..

Condition

- Let say you have PC / Laptop (PC-A) at your home and want to connect to your server (Server-A) in your office.

- You’re too tired for always typing your password each time you want to logon to your Server-A.

- You need to implement some script which will be automatically executed remotely from your PC-A to Server-A 

So Here it is the steps :

ON YOUR PC-A do the following (assuming your PC-A is *nix based not windows based):

- login to your PC-A with your username and password (let say you use “gundul” as your username for logging in).

- generate your key by issuing this command

ssh-keygen -t rsa

Note : just press Enter if it asks about where to put the file and passphrase as default but if you want to make it more secure just follow the direction that appears.

- your key will be generated in ~/.ssh/id_rsa (this is your private key) and ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub (this is your public key).

- issue this following command (IMPORTANT !!!!)

chmod 400 ~/.ssh/id_rsa

Note : if you don’t do above command to change the file permission, you will always be asked for password even you already done all this tutorial. 

- copy the ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub from PC-A to SERVER-A under any directory by any way (scp,ftp,whatever).

STEPS ON SERVER-A

- login to SERVER-A with your preferred username and password (let say you use “kampret” as your username for logging in).

- let say you already copy above file to /tmp directory on SERVER-A, now you just need to issue this following command :

cat /tmp/id_rsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys

cat /tmp/id_rsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys2

chmod 600 ~/.ssh/authorized_keys

chmod 600 ~/.ssh/authorized_keys2

rm /tmp/id_rsa.pub

DONE !!!

FOR TESTING IT :

- login to your PC-A with “gundul” as username

- ssh to SERVER-A with “kampret” as username 

ssh kampret@server-a

you should automatically login without being prompted by password.

So .. once again .. hopefully this tutorial will be helpful.

[tips'n'tricks] enable rsh/rlogin in solaris 10

hehehheh .. just want to share .. just in case somebody (perhaps) needs this kind of how to.

Why do we still use rsh for remote command instead of ssh which is more secure ? humm .. perhaps this kind of question will be raised by someone when his / her friend use this kind of command to do the remote command from other machine.

Yeps, that’s true .. ssh is more secure than rsh .. but … there’s special case that some service still needs rsh as a mandatory checlist for it to run normally. In my case .. cacti !!!

Cacti service still needs rsh to pool its data from other machine for it to be able to draw such a statictic graph.

So .. here it is how to enable rsh service in solaris 10 :

Checking whether rsh service up or not by :

telnet target_ip_address 513

if the answer like below :

Trying target_ip_address…
Connected to target_ip_address.
Escape character is ‘^]’.

so it’s fine, i mean the rsh already UP and running, next just need to make sure that you can do remote command with rsh by :

rsh target_ip_address -l username ls (try to list directory through remote command).

if you can see the result .. so it’s fine .. everything it’s fine .. no need to read my next writing.

But if none of above happen .. so .. you need to :

- enable rsh on remote machine by:

svcadm enable svc:/network/login:rlogin --> this is for enabling rlogin


svcadm enable svc:/network/shell:default --> this is for enabling remote shell command


- add in the .rhosts under home directory of target machine like below (to be able to login without password) :

ip_address_or_hostname_from_machine_want_to_login_in       username_used_by_machine_want_to_login_in

for example, if i have 2 server :

Server A and Server B.

then Server A with username = super wants to login to Server B with username = kampret

So what you need to do just :

on server B :

- enable rsh and shell/default service as mention in tutorial above.

- login to server B normally with user kampret and then just go to kampret’s home directory and create file with .rhosts as its name and write below on it :

server_A_IP_ADDRESS_or_HOSTNAME     super

that’s it … no need for changing something else on server A.

Even .. it’s not too important .. but .. it’s such a fun thing when i can see what i’ve played on my Amarok viewed on my skype too instead of just Pidgin.

How to do that ? simple ..

Download this Amarok Script download here

and then .. install it through Amarok by :

open Amarok –> Tools –> Script Manager –> Install Script –> RUN script –> DONE !!!!!

after that .. you can configure it by click on CONFIGURE.

That’s it !!!

[Tips'n'Tricks] Remote Solaris Desktop dari terminal service client Ubuntu / Linux

Kekekekkek .. iseng2 karena bosen ma export display yang cuman bisa 1 export-an tiap server dan ndak bisa barengan untuk beberapa server .. so gw cobain pake terminal service client-nya si ubuntu gw, tapi ternyata XDMCP-nya masih disable .. so perlu di ENABLE in dengan cara :

sudo aptitude install xnest

DONE !!!!

gampang kan ? akhirnya bisa ngerjain banyak server buat install oracle client wuhuuhu .. kenapa ndak dr dulu gw jalanin kaya gini yak ? kekekkekeke

Oh ya .. Ubuntu gw udah HARDY .. kali yang di bawah HARDY .. kudu dikit oprek2 .. ^_^
